When I first saw the building in Berkhamsted (or ‘Berko’ as we’ve grown to call it!), I thought “wow, what are we going to do with this then!?” It looked like such a shattered building from the outside, but inside was another story. You could see there was charm. It was just a little hidden. The beautiful beams were covered in paint so we got to work restoring them straight away. Slowly but surely the building came back to life.
My husband spent hours creating the driftwood artwork by the front door. We lost him for a whole weekend while he did it. Luckily we have him back, and the piece looks great. Even if he does think it’s not visible enough!
